Ames CSD is Hiring an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach (SY24-25) Near Ames, IA
The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 2024-25 school year.
Work Schedule: During the season, the work schedule will be 3-4 hours daily M-F. Various nights and weekends are also required for games.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Supports Head Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of basketball.
- Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group and team level.
- Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards athletes, officials, and spectators.
- Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.
- Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.
- A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.
- Experience coaching basketball at the high school level preferred.
The successful candidate will:

- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
